Blessing Four… promises heaven for the believer.
Blessing four destines the believer for heaven. Will you be there?
Make sure you respond when invited.
Blessing four is found in Revelation 19:9 and is bestowed upon the readers and hearers of Revelation, who take these words to heart.
Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”
Wedding Supper of the Lamb
This was a parable that Jesus teaches in Matthew 22:1-14 and in 25:1-13. The king who is preparing the wedding supper is God, and the bride is the Church; that is all the believers. He extends an invitation to attend this supper, but those who receive the invitations don’t accept them. They go on doing whatever they are about, ignoring the King. So, the king gets upset and sends his servants (evangelists) to find anyone willing to come. Those willing, are allowed to enter the wedding supper. The rest are shut out because they ignored the invitation. (Yes, this is a very brief and crude summary).
God Wants All of His Children at the Wedding Supper
The point is that God extends His invitation to us because he wants all of his children, his entire creation to join him in heaven. He wants all of us to be reconciled to him. The only way to do that is through Jesus Christ. Jesus is the groom, and we, those who are believers, are the bride, the church.
Anyone who receives the invitation and attends the wedding is blessed. Those who respond to God’s invitation are the ‘chosen’, they are the blessed ones.
God’s Word is Transformative
We live in an era where God’s word is available to us, and is at our fingertips if only we choose to reach for it, read it, and allow it to transform our lives. God’s word is our invitation… we must accept what it tells us to do. We must respond in obedience, accepting Christ as our Lord. We are then blessed because we are the chosen people of God and His children.
All Believers Attend the Wedding Celebration
A traditional Hebrew wedding and feast lasted for several days and was a joyous celebration. This passage speaks to a future marriage celebration, where the ‘Church’, which is comprised of all believers in Jesus Christ, is eternally united with Christ. At last, we are all together, in the same location. I believe this wedding and celebration will take place on earth, after the Tribulation period and before the start of the Millennial Kingdom.
Second Resurrection Judgement
If you read Daniel 12:11, the prophet speaks of an interim period between the end of the Tribulation and the start of the Millennial Kingdom of Christ. During this time, there will also be the judgement of those from the second resurrection, those who rejected Christ and His gift of salvation.
Therefore, the conclusion of this blessing is that those who find faith in Jesus Christ during the Tribulation will enter heaven! Not only is it a blessing, but a promise of God, and he NEVER breaks his promises.
Blessings,
Jana
The degree to which I admire your work is as substantial as your own enthusiasm. Your visual presentation is refined, and the material you’ve written is stylish.
