Jana Smith’s Photo Gallery, Posters, and Photography
Photography is one of my long-time passions, hence the creation of a photo gallery for my website. It is my hope that this will show another side of me, my love of God’s creation and my desire to capture its beauty and intricacy.
Even before digital photography became available, I longed to take hundreds of pictures, but the cost of developing them often restrained me. However, I must admit, I drove my husband crazy when we were on vacation, as I took rolls and rolls of pictures, many of them just scenery. Why? Firstly, because I just could not help myself. Secondly, inwardly, I hoped I’d have time to paint them… one day. Sadly, that day never came.
Digital Photography
Then along came digital photography. Hurray! My desire to take lots of photos was finally realized. So now, with digital photography and fabulous software, I can pretend to paint vicariously using nothing more than a mouse and a digital canvas. As you can see in the various images in this gallery, many have been ‘edited’. I’ve also been able to create posters, where I can add scripture verses to my photos.
Artistic License
Or one can say, I exercised my artistic license and gave substance to what I envisioned through the camera lens when I took the picture.

Flowers always draw my attention, and I love to take pictures of them. Personally, I don’t know many photographers who have not been mesmerized by the intricate beauty of flowers.
East Coast Sights
I love the East Coast. In Canada, we are so blessed with a variety of scenery! Each area has its beauty, but the East Coast holds a special place in my heart. Serene beauty in an often rugged terrain.

Going for long, leisurely walks has always been a love of mine, but especially in nature. Since I was a young girl, I have loved the smell of the earth after rain, the sparkle of raindrops on leaves and flowers. Plus, it’s a great time to take pictures.

Coast and Water
Coastlines and water scenery, from streams to rivers, lakes and the ocean always draw me. There is never a lack of something to take a picture of, be it a reflection on the surface, or a peaceful setting.
